AI Trip Planner for Orlando: Build a Custom Disney & Universal Itinerary
An AI trip planner can turn a week of Disney World and Universal into a day-by-day plan in minutes, if you give it the right details and check what it tells you. Here's how, with a sample 7-day itinerary.

The short answer
An AI trip planner can build a good Orlando itinerary in minutes, but only if it knows the things that actually shape an Orlando trip: which of the area's theme parks you'll visit, which hotel you stay at (it changes your early entry and line-skipping options), when booking windows open, and how much your group can handle in one day. Give it those, check its facts against the parks' own pages, and you get a plan that works on the ground, not just on paper.
Below: what to tell an AI planner, the booking dates it should plan around, a sample 7-day Disney World and Universal itinerary, and where AI planners most often get Orlando wrong.
What the AI needs to know about Orlando
Orlando isn't one park, and "a week at Disney" means different things to different families. A good plan starts by picking from these:
- Walt Disney World: four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom) plus two water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.
- Universal Orlando Resort: Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Epic Universe, which opened on May 22, 2025, plus the Volcano Bay water park.
- Days off the parks: a pool day, a water park, or Kennedy Space Center. Most families need at least one.
The fastest way to a bad plan is asking an AI to "fit everything in." Pick your must-do parks first, then let the planner arrange the days.
The booking calendar your plan should follow
Orlando rewards people who book on the right day. These are the windows we check on every Orlando trip, from the parks' own sites:
| What | When it opens |
|---|---|
| Disney World dining reservations | 60 days before your visit. Disney Resort hotel guests can book their whole stay (up to 10 nights) starting 60 days before arrival. |
| Disney Lightning Lane passes | 7 days before check-in for Disney Resort hotel guests (and a few select hotels); 3 days ahead for everyone else. Sales open at 7:00 AM Eastern. |
| Disney Early Theme Park Entry | 30 minutes early into any Disney World theme park, every day, for Disney Resort hotel guests and select other hotels. |
| Universal Early Park Admission | Up to one hour early at select attractions for Universal Orlando hotel guests, including Epic Universe. |
| Universal Express Unlimited | Included for guests of Loews Portofino Bay, Hard Rock Hotel and Loews Royal Pacific, valid at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, but not at Epic Universe or Volcano Bay. |
That last line is a good example of why you check an AI's answer. A planner that says "your hotel's Express pass covers every park" sounds right and is wrong for Epic Universe.
What to tell an AI trip planner
Paste something like this into any AI planner, or put it in the BlueGate trip form:
- Dates and flights: when you land and leave, and from which city.
- Who's going: number of adults and kids, kids' ages and heights (ride height limits matter).
- Parks: Disney only, Universal only, or both, and your top three rides or shows.
- Where to stay: on-site hotel (for early entry and perks), off-site hotel, or a rental home with a kitchen and pool.
- Pace: rope drop to fireworks, or a midday break at the pool.
- Food: any dietary needs or allergies, and whether you want sit-down meals.
- Budget and whether you'll rent a car.
A sample 7-day Disney & Universal itinerary
This is the shape we start from for a family that wants both resorts. Your version changes with your kids' ages, your hotel and the season.
- Day 1: Arrive. Land, pick up the car or transfer, groceries if you're in a rental, then the pool. No park today.
- Day 2: Magic Kingdom. Arrive before opening (use early entry if your hotel has it). Big rides first, midday break, back for the evening.
- Day 3: EPCOT or Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom is best early in the morning; EPCOT works well into the evening.
- Day 4: Rest day. Pool, Disney Springs, or a water park. This is the day that saves the trip with younger kids.
- Day 5: Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. With a park-to-park ticket you can ride the Hogwarts Express between them.
- Day 6: Epic Universe. Arrive early; if you stay at a Universal hotel, Early Park Admission gets you in up to an hour before regular opening at select attractions.
- Day 7: Hollywood Studios half-day, then fly home. Or swap in Kennedy Space Center if your group loves rockets more than rides.

Where AI planners get Orlando wrong
- Old rules. Park perks and booking windows change often. A chatbot trained on older pages may describe systems that have been replaced. Check every rule against Disney's or Universal's own site.
- Too many parks per day. Two Disney parks in one day looks efficient and usually means two half-visits and tired kids.
- Ignoring travel time. Disney and Universal are separate resorts. Moving between them, or from a rental home, takes real time in Orlando traffic.
- Made-up details. AI tools sometimes invent restaurants, show times or hotel perks. If it matters, verify it.
- No plan for meals. Dining reservations open 60 days out. A plan that leaves food for "later" can mean no table where you wanted one.

Questions
Can an AI trip planner plan a Disney World trip?
Yes. An AI trip planner can arrange which park to visit on which day, suggest hotels and meals, and build a day-by-day plan. Check rules and booking windows against Disney's own site, since AI tools can repeat outdated information. BlueGate's AI builds the plan around your dates, kids' ages and budget, and nothing is booked until you approve.
How many days do you need for Disney World and Universal?
About 7 days covers three or four Disney parks and two Universal days with one rest day. With young kids, add a pool day after every two park days.
When should I book Disney dining and Lightning Lane?
Disney dining reservations open 60 days ahead (Disney Resort hotel guests can book their whole stay, up to 10 nights). Lightning Lane passes go on sale 7 days before check-in for Disney Resort hotel guests and 3 days ahead for everyone else, at 7:00 AM Eastern.
Does Universal Express Unlimited work at Epic Universe?
No. The free Express Unlimited that comes with Loews Portofino Bay, Hard Rock Hotel and Loews Royal Pacific is valid at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, not at Epic Universe or Volcano Bay.
Is BlueGate free to use?
Asking for a trip plan is free and there's no obligation. You get a custom itinerary by email, and nothing is booked until you approve it.
